I have followed his career as a top player of his era, renowned for his single-minded dedication to the game, he was ranked No. 1 on the Official World Golf Ranking for a total of 97 weeks. His 40 professional wins include 30 victories on the European Tour and six major championships: three Open Championships (1987, 1990, 1992) and three Masters (1989, 1990, 1996).
Thus, it is such an honor to have my daughter Ashia Marie Sahi-Nocum qualifying to play for the “Faldo Series Asia Grand Final 2016” in China next year where she will be pitted against the best junior golfers in Asia.
After three days of challenging and grueling tournament under the Faldo Series Philippine Championship in Beverly Place Golf Club in Mexico, Pampanga, Ashia emerged among the winners in her age category to join the Philippine Team in playing for the prestigious golf tournament in China.
Apart from the playing slot, also got a Faldo Medal and a signed congratulatory message and invitation from my gold idol Nick to play in China.
What makes her feat amazing is the fact that she did not have time to practice in the unfamiliar greens of the golf course as we were all so busy to join her in her tournament games.
Congratulations Ashia for once more making us all proud; and for making all our effort to support your golfing career worth all the hard work and sacrifice.
